About sizing
When you purchase a ring from us, the first sizing is complimentary. Most rings can be safely and easily sized up or down one full size — and sometimes more — unless otherwise noted. Rings were generally made to the scale of their size. Larger rings can be too broad for a smaller finger, and vice versa. Consider finger shape and knuckle size, and remember that finger size changes over the course of a day and with temperature.
Our jewelers specialize in the restoration of antique and vintage jewelry. We use both traditional and modern techniques to create as seamless a sizing as possible. We take great pride in this work; if for any reason you have a problem resulting from our sizing, we will correct it. We do not guarantee work performed by other jewelers.
What can and cannot be sized
Plain shanks in gold or platinum usually size readily. Eternity bands, tension settings, full-circle gem pavé, carved shanks, and some Art Deco filigree galleries may have limits — we note this on the product page when a ring cannot be sized or can only move a half size.
International sizes
We quote US sizes. Approximate conversions:
- US 5 ≈ UK J½ ≈ EU 49 ≈ 15.7 mm inside diameter
- US 6 ≈ UK L½ ≈ EU 52 ≈ 16.5 mm
- US 7 ≈ UK N½ ≈ EU 54 ≈ 17.3 mm
- US 8 ≈ UK P½ ≈ EU 57 ≈ 18.1 mm
- US 9 ≈ UK R½ ≈ EU 60 ≈ 19.0 mm
