About Victorian Jewelry

Flora, fauna, hearts, crescents, knots, stars, and just about any gemstone they could get their hands on…the Victorians probably used it in their jewelry.

Queen Victoria took the throne in 1837. Romantic shapes, parures, cluster rings, and bands of matching stones are typical. Jewelers loved rich yellow gold, sometimes topped with silver to accentuate diamonds.

Sentimental lockets, enamel suites, and coral hearts said what givers could not say aloud.
