About this piece
New York City jeweler Hammerman Brothers was known for creating stunning bracelet watches for women and had the distinction of creating a special bracelet for a watch presented to President Eisenhower. Hammerman also produced (and still does) utterly unique jewels of all kinds, often created with luxurious textures, diamonds, and vibrant gemstones. Not your typical 'sweet' bow, this ribbon brooch, hailing from the 1970s-1980s, is crafted in gold bearing a distinctive nubby texture with matte and high-polish surfaces, and is 'tied' with a sash of crisply sparkling round brilliant-cut diamonds. A bold stroke of ornament. Total diamond weight, .75 carat. Rendered in 18K yellow and white gold. Pin stem and mechanism are 14K yellow gold.
