There's a lot going on in this fabulous, exquisitely detailed Victorian jewel dating from the mid-19th century. Expertly hand fabricated in warmly burnished 18K yellow gold, the lavalière radiates all around the fanciful circular design with gorgeous rich crystalline red cushion-cut rubies--alternating with bright old mine-cut diamonds--that orbit a central lozenge-shaped ruby. The center ruby, framed by a quatrefoil design glittering with tiny rose-cut diamonds, is embellished at its cardinal points with four sizable old mine-cuts. An outer frame and the crown motif bail both twinkle with rose-cuts, while a trio of diamond-topped, lustrous white, natural saltwater pearl drops dance below. A ravishing, refined, and exemplary antique wearable collectable. Also wearable as a brooch. Total diamond weight - 2.60 carats, total ruby weight - 2.65 carats. Natural pearls bear a GIA report. Platinum chain measures 18 inches.
