About this necklace
Dating back to the mid 1800s, this striking Early-Victorian-era jewel highlights a pretty, 2.00 carat light pastel-colored opal gleaming from within a glistening rose-cut diamond-set halo. The alluring combination is, in turn, framed in glossy cobalt blue enamel followed by a looping serpentine frame finely hand fabricated in alternating textured and bright polished 18K yellow gold. This delightful jewel measures 1 3/8 by 1 1/4 inches and suspends from a new 16-inch chain. Total diamond weight, .25 carat. Note: the approximately 175-year-old opal has a small, barely noticeable chip at the bottom and minor crazing and, accordingly, is specially priced.
