About this necklace
A ruin of the former world headquarters of western civilization - the Roman Forum is depicted in teeny-tiny micro-mosaic tesserae in this very striking and unusual bauble designed by Elizabeth Locke of Virginia and Madison Avenue. The original 19th-century mosaic is newly and beautifully framed in hand-hammered 19 karat yellow gold (the designer's signature precious metal), adorned with twisted rope and raised-bead motifs. Measures 1 3/8 inches (not including the flip-up loop) by 1 3/16 inch. The extra-large hinged bail allows for use as an enhancer on pearls or other bead necklaces.
