About this ring
Sentimental and creative, Victorians found beautiful and unusual ways to keep the memory of loved ones in a tangible form, and this ring is a fine representation of such artistry. The top is a wide navette shape with woven hair under glass, set in a frame colored with black enamel that reads, "Hble LT. GENER FRASER, OB 8 FEB 1782 AET '56." Textured edging and hand engraving on the shoulders and under gallery add finishing details to this rare survivor, unique adornment, and intriguing bit of 19th-century jewelry history. Hand fabricated in 12K rose gold, it is currently ring size 5 1/4.
