About this necklace

There's a lot going on in this original Victorian era adornment. Dating back to the latter-19th century, and quite likely of French origin (although no hallmarks exist), this fabulous pendant centers on a quatrefoil arrangement of old mine cushion-cut diamonds embellished all around with fanciful black enamel tracery, all of which in turn are framed by smaller old mine-cut diamonds, which in turn are supported by a double-scalloped undergallery which rests upon a hand-engraved frame - whew! This stunning antique ultra-sparkler, measuring 1 1/4 (minus the bail) by 1 1/16 inches, is finely hand-fabricated in warmly burnished 18K yellow gold and contains 3.35 carats of sizzling white diamonds. A rare beauty. The 18 inch chain is new.
