About this necklace
Kids will be kids. This late-19th-century pendant/brooch features the original party animal--an adolescent Bacchus (or Dionysus in ancient Greek), the mischievous Roman god of wine and revelry. Hand carved in vibrant, rich persimmon-colored coral, he is arrayed in a lion-skin toga, and his flowing locks are crowned with the customary grape clusters. Set inside an ornate and intricately fashioned 14K gold frame, featuring a fancy swinging element embellished with lively dancing fringe, he can't wait to get the party started. Hand fabricated, circa 1880. New chain measures 18 inches. The more the merrier--we have matching earrings 20-1-5107.
