About this necklace
Old mine diamonds, also known as antique cushion cuts, have a chunky pillow-like shape and a fire that captivates, especially in candlelight (a particularly pleasing plus in the pre-electricity period of the 18th to mid-19th centuries). This beautifully dimensional pendant (formerly a brooch) shines with eight of these spirited stones, each with its own unique variations, set in an intricate flower-like design embellished with black enamel and pretty hand-engraved details. Your neckline is waiting, so get out the candles and be ready to sparkle. Center diamond is .40 carat, total diamond weight is .90 carat. Hand fabricated in 18K yellow gold, circa the 1880s (possibly French), it suspends from an 18-inch chain and can be worn as a brooch.
