Sapphires love to surprise and delight. Blue is the color that first comes to mind when the beloved gem is mentioned, and within the realm of blue, there is an enthralling array of shades. The 1.14 carat sapphire* in this Mid-Century ring radiates an intriguing, rich teal (greenish-blue) hue, enhanced in striking contrast by baguette diamonds that flash with mirror-like light, all of which crown a lustrous platinum shank. Total diamond weight, .30 carat. Currently ring size 7 1/4. *The sapphire is a later replacement for what was originally a diamond. GIA Gemological Report states: No indications of heating. Basalt related. Note: Basalt-related sapphires come from different origins and often have similar characteristics. In many cases, it is not possible to determine their specific origin.
