The thoughtful and elegant arrangement of gems in this quietly magnificent Belle Epoque pendant creates a true art piece to hang at your neckline. At its center, a beautifully shaped mother-of-pearl is carved with an image of the Madonna framed by onyx and glinting rose-cut diamonds, while decorative elements north and south sparkle with single-cut stones. The artistic assemblage forms a navette that is trimmed with luminous natural pearls punctuated by single-cut diamonds, all suspended from an 18-inch chain by way of a diamond-set bail. For a bit of motion and additional luster, a pearl drop dangles below. Divine. Total diamond weight - .46 carat, total onyx weight - .40 carat. Hand fabricated in platinum during the first or second decade of the twentieth century.
