About this ring
An oval sapphire, weighing 8.50 carats, casts a gorgeous royal-blue glow from within a sparkling halo of 14 bright white round brilliant-cut diamonds, punctuated east and west by arcs of gleaming baguette diamonds, all supported by a platinum shank. The creation of this sapphire reflects an intriguing geological phenomenon called color zoning (the natural uneven distribution of trace elements in the stone), which appears as a small, clear area in the gem, bearing witness to its fascinating formation. A beautiful—and beautifully priced—estate jewel. Total diamond weight, 1.25 carats. Currently ring size 6 3/4. GIA gemological report states: Sri Lanka (aka Ceylon) - origin; heated.
