About this piece

Advances in metalworking made possible the creation of pure platinum jewelry, very often in ethereal and delicate designs. Such jewels were perfectly suited for the lovely pastel colors and lighter fabrics that were fashionable during the Edwardian era. We imagine that this airy brooch, strikingly centered by a European-cut diamond set against sleek knife wires and surrounded by both a wreath twinkling with rose and single-cut diamonds and an outer frame of rose cuts, graced the ensemble of a most stylish early 20th-century woman. And it is ready to do the same for yours. Hand fabricated in platinum, circa 1910. Total diamond weight, 1.08 carats.
