About this piece
Time travel. Made in Switzerland, imported to England, and then to France (according to the hallmarks), this truly magnificent timepiece by Sir John Bennett of London, "Makers to the late Queen Victoria," has traversed countries--and centuries--in stunning style. Bearing a Swiss movement marked "Paris Grand Prix 1900," the Art Nouveau masterwork is crafted with surpassing gold repousse exhibiting Neo-Classical influences and is accented with gorgeous translucent gold and ivory enameling. An array of exceptionally white diamonds--European, Swiss, and single cuts--add crisp sparkle. A captivating and highly collectible treasure. BTW - this will also look beautiful as a pendant. As a further testament to its journey through the years, it is hand engraved with "June 25 1937", 1988. Total diamond weight, .25 carat. Die-struck in 18K gold, and when not out and about on the town, the lapel watch resides in its original fitted box.
