Sri Lanka (formerly known as Ceylon) is home to some of the world's oldest known sapphire mines and the stones are prized for their rich blue color. In this most marvelous and magnificent Art Deco bracelet, a 2.50 carat oval Sri Lankan sapphire of an exceptionally vivid, velvety blue hue (accompanied by gemological report from the AGL stating: No Gemological Evidence of Heat - Ceylon origin) is joined on each side by an equally vibrant rectangular sapphire, all set in links glittering with an array of diamond shapes--round brilliants, trapezoids, and baguettes--creating the striking centerpiece design of this stunning jewel. This artful composition of sparkle and color is finished with links of round brilliant and marquise diamonds accented with baguette sapphires, terminating with a beautiful clasp that is seamlessly incorporated into the design. Truly breathtaking. Circa 1930. Total sapphire weight - 4.85 carats, total diamond weight - 7.50 carats. Hand fabricated in platinum, it measures 7/16 by 7 inches.
