Art Deco 45.00 Carat High Domed Star Sapphire and Diamond Ring, Size 5

When is a ring akin to an architectural masterpiece? When every element is exquisitely built and detailed, resulting in a structure that can rightly be called magnificent. Such is the case with this extraordinary Art Deco jewel. Steeply sloping flared shoulders, set with bright trapezoid and baguette diamonds, rise to meet a finely hand-engraved gallery which--along with reed-like, diamond dusted prongs--hold aloft a 45.00 carat major double cabochon sapphire with a glorious periwinkle hue and an exceptionally well-defined star (also known as asterism). Magnificent indeed. Total diamond weight, .70 carat. Hand fabricated in platinum (shank is 14K white gold). Because the ring has a custom shank (it pulls open to move easily over the knuckle and then closes to fit snugly at the base of the finger, it is now an non-resizable size 5 (although, if needed, we can replace it with a solid shank).
