About this ring
Composed of a single element—pure carbon—diamonds formed deep below the Earth's surface over 3.5 billion years ago with the aid of tremendous heat and pressure, rising to the surface much later by way of volcanic eruptions. Though diamonds of low quality are common, gem-quality diamonds, especially ones of considerable size, are not. One in every 5 million diamonds is 3.00 carats in size. The astounding stone that blazes atop this magnificent ring* is just shy of 19.00 carats (18.86) and is exceedingly rare. Displaying the unique 'birthmarks' of its explosive journey, it bears a very faint soft yellow coloration (from traces of nitrogen) and distinctive crystal inclusions. Held by ribbed prongs, it rests in a louvered gallery rimmed with tiny glittering European cut diamonds, and is buttressed by steeply sloping shoulders that shimmer with forty-eight diamonds. A ravishing and utterly remarkable jewel. Total diamond weight, 19.46 carats. Hand fabricated in platinum, currently ring size 8 1/2. Accompanied by a GIA Grading Report stating: O,P color - SI2 clarity. *From the estate of a renowned A-list Hollywood actor (only to be revealed upon purchase ;).
